Vietjet and HD Bank gift ambulances to assist the fight
against the pandemic
(Vietjet, HCM city, 22/7/2021) - Vietjet and HD Bank have granted 10 ambulance vans to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health. More than 1,000 beds were also given to intensive care units of hospitals in the city.
Vietjet CEO Ms Nguyen
Thi Phuong Thao and her employees has run a program named “Loving meal” to
provide more than 600,000 meals and tons of food supplies for over a month. An
estimated of more than VND70 billion VND was spent on charity work in the fight
against the pandemic at HCM City.
“Loving meal” has
prepared 20,000 free meals with vegetarian options daily for medical staffs in
field hospitals, people in quarantine and those who are struggling financially.
Each portion consists of rice, vegetables, soup and a main dish that change
every day. Side dishes and snacks include eggs, milk or fruits to boost the
immune system.
The nutrition quality and variety of dishes are put into consideration in order to provide sufficient energy for those working on the front-line. The program has been operating for more than 10 years with love and kindness put into every meal, hoping to become the strength for front-line workers and the people to overcome the pandemic. In addition, the program also prepared gifts including rice, instant noodles and essential spices for poor families living in restricted areas.
Ms N.Anh, sharing
from a restricted area: “I was so surprised and touched when receiving the
meal. They have always been knowned for their clean and delicious rice. Never
have I thought that there would be a day I needed charity meals. But right now,
we all need these ‘loving meals’ that are full of warmth and humanity.”
Vietjet has also
provided free airlift for more than 2,000 medical staffs from all around the
country to HCM City, along with vaccines and other medical supplies. The
company stated that it would continue to organize free flights to assists
southern cities and provinces.
The Ministry of Health has mobilized experienced doctors and medical staffs from many places such as Hanoi, Hai Duong and Bac Giang to boost up medical procedures including screening, testing and treatment at hospitals.
Previously, the
female billionaire has donated and called for donations to COVID-19 Vaccine
Fund. She has spread the supporting message on the fund’s official website at https://quyvacxincovid19.gov.vn/
to help push forward the national vaccination rollout and achieve the herd
immunity faster.
Sovico Group, where
Ms. Phuong Thao holds the position of Chairwoman, has sponsored and organized a
streaming international symphony concert to make contribution to the vaccine
fund. For the first time, a streaming concert of the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet
Symphony Orchestra and Opera was broadcast live on national television with
artists participating by streaming from all over the world such as the US, the
UK, Australia, South Korea, Japan.
At the moment, the
support from benefactors and enterprises are needed more than ever to help
Vietnam in the fight against the pandemic in order to bring children back to
schools, to reunite families, to open businesses once again and to get life
back to normal.
