(Vietjet, Hanoi, March 30, 2025) - In response to the emergency in Myanmar following the earthquake disaster, Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of National Defense quickly dispatched a delegation to assist the people of Myanmar. Vietjet has operated two modern A330 and A321 aircraft to transport the mission team from the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam to Myanmar.
Vietjet promptly
prepared the technical aspects, flight permits to ensure the flights could take
off quickly.
On the afternoon of
March 30, two flights numbered VJ2875 and VJ2877 took off from Noi Bai Airport
in Hanoi, carrying 106 rescue and relief soldiers from the armed forces, along
with search and rescue dogs together with more than 60 tons of cargo for relief
efforts, including medical equipment and food supplies, to Yangon city,
Myanmar.
Vietjet’s flight crew and staff assigned to assist the relief delegation are experienced in operations and relief flights.

The 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar on March 28 caused severe impacts, resulting in over 1,600 fatalities, nearly 3,500 injuries, and hundreds missing. The strong tremors caused damage to homes, collapsing bridges and roads in Myanmar. Thailand and Vietnam also reported strong shaking due to the earthquake.
Vietjet has experience
in carrying out many relief flights with the spirit of mutual support and
compassion - “spreading love” both domestically and internationally. Vietjet
flights have previously transported goods and disaster relief forces from the
earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia in 2018, Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines
in 2013… Vietjet also swiftly deployed flights carrying healthcare workers,
police, and military forces participating in pandemic prevention throughout the
pandemic. Charitable activities and community support are an integral part of
the lives of Vietjet people.
