CEO's Letter
Dear Esteemed
Customer, Shareholders and Investors,
We believe that in 2024, our shareholders and investors have
had a proud journey, witnessing Vietjet’s wings soar higher and further,
continuously conquering “floral dreams”.
With the determination and consensus of the Board of
Directors, the Vietjet team and the trust of shareholders and investors,
starting in 2024, Vietjet continues to pioneer the mission of expanding the
flight network, opening more international and domestic routes. Many of these
routes were operated for the first time in the history of Vietnam's aviation
industry, such as Hanoi - Hiroshima (Japan), Da Nang - Ahmedabad (India), Ho
Chi Minh City - Xi'an (China), Phu Quoc - Taipei (Taiwan, China).
In 2024, Vietjet became the airline with the largest number of
passengers in Vietnam, transporting over
25.9 million passengers on 137,000 safe flights. Vietjet operates a total of
145 routes, including 44 domestic routes and 101 international routes.
During the year, Vietjet completed its goal of receiving 10
new aircraft, bringing the total fleet to 94 aircraft, with the youngest
aircraft age in the region. The airline's flights achieved a high average seat
occupancy rate of 87% and technical reliability rate of 99.72%. Vietjet remains
an airline with high technical reliability, rated 7/7 stars for safety and
voted by AirlineRatings as “Best Ultra-Low-Cost Carrier” and “Best Low-Cost
Airline Onboard Hospitality”.
Aiming to become a multinational airline group, contributing
to promoting tourism, trade and investment, strengthening the connection
between Vietnam and other countries, the airline has constantly innovated and
invested in new aviation technology solutions and services to ensure the
highest safety and quality standards. As a result, Vietjet's brand value has
grown significantly in 2024.
According to the financial statements, Vietjet’s revenue for
the entire year of 2024 reached VND 71.545 trillion (approx. US$2.8 billion),
with after-tax profit exceeding VND 1.301 trillion (approx. US$ 51.6 million),
increasing by 33% and 697% YoY respectively. We paid more than VND7.5 trillion
(approx. US$297.89 million) in direct and indirect taxes and fees in 2024.
Thanks to these impressive business results, Vietjet is the
only airline in the Top 25 most valuable brands in Vietnam ranked by Brand
Finance, the world's leading organization in brand valuation. The company was
also honored by Forbes in the top 50 best listed companies in Vietnam in 2024.
Vietjet's wings not only take passengers to destinations but
also carry the mission of connecting culture, trade, and tourism between
Vietnam and other countries. Each journey of Vietjet is a steady step forward,
a symbol of the spirit of constantly striving to bring Vietnam closer to the
world.
With the desire to expand the sky and bring the national flag
to new lands, in 2025, we aim to become a green airline, leading in technology,
creativity and sustainable development.
To enhance the airline's transport capacity, in 2025, Vietjet
will receive the first 737 Max aircraft out of 200 aircraft ordered with
Boeing. The airline is also actively negotiating with suppliers of onboard
Internet technology solutions to provide passengers with the best flight
experience.
In 2025, the airline aims to maintain its pioneering position
in connecting Vietnam with the world through the expansion of the international
flight network, thereby promoting trade, investment and exchanges between
Vietnam and countries around the world.
In addition to strategic business activities, Vietjet will
actively participate in community activities and social projects, contributing
to increasing the value of investors and spreading the spirit of social
responsibility.
I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to all
customers, shareholders, investors and the Vietjet team for their unwavering
support, enabling Vietjet to achieve these remarkable accomplishments today.
I believe that with the companionship and trust of
shareholders and investors, Vietjet will develop robustly and spread positive values,
towards building a developed society and a prosperous country.
Respectfully,
DINH VIET PHUONG
The Chief Executive Officer Vietjet
