Vietjet accelerates growth via international expansion, fleet
order of over 600 Aircraft, and an enhancing aviation ecosystem

Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (HOSE: VJC) has reported its positive
financial results for the second quarter and the first six months of 2026.
Growth drivers included the continuous
expansion of international flight network, high transport demand, and a
long-term investment strategy in a next-generation fleet order exceeding 600
aircraft and to develop an integrated aviation ecosystem spanning passenger
transport, ground handling, air freight, training, engineering, financial
services, and technology.
In Q2/2026 and the first six months combined,
Vietjet transported over 6.2 million passengers across nearly 33,000 flights,
and over 13.4 million passengers across 72,000 flights, respectively. Total
cargo volume reached nearly 41,000 tonnes.

Vietjet currently operates 213 routes,
including 46 domestic and 167 international routes. During the first six months
of the year, the airline launched new international routes connecting to China,
Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, and the Czech Republic. It was also expanding its
footprint across South Asia, Central Asia, and especially Europe, thereby
bolstering trade, investment, and tourism links between Vietnam and the world.
Amid persistent global aviation headwinds,
including geopolitical volatility, fluctuating jet fuel prices, and rising
operational costs, Vietjet sustained robust revenue growth. This was achieved
by leveraging international route expansion, growing traffic volumes,
optimizing fleet utilization, and executing effective commercial, financial,
and governance initiatives.
To elevate passenger experience, Vietjet
continued enhancing its product and service ecosystem—offering Business,
SkyBoss, Deluxe, and Eco ticket classes—alongside hot meals, VikkiCafe,
duty-free offerings, SkyFi SIM cards, foreign currency exchange services, the
SkyJoy loyalty program, and various digital touch points spanning booking, check-in,
and personalized services.
Apart from core transport activities, Vietjet
continues to advance its integrated aviation group model. AirportNEO officially
commenced ground handling operations at major airports across Vietnam, driving in
better operational quality and on-time performance (OTP). Air cargo continued
to expand in response to growing regional logistics demand. Vietjet Aviation
Academy scaled up international-standard training programs, while the
maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) unit is being prepared for
operation—stepwise completing the value chain across operations, training,
ground handling, logistics, and technical maintenance to strengthen competitive
capacity and support sustainable growth.
Vietjet Thailand stepped up its network
expansion and operational efficiency in Thailand using a modern Boeing 737-8
fleet. Meanwhile, Vietjet Qazaqstan delivered positive performance across its
route network, stimulating connectivity and regional economic development in
Central Asia.
In Q2/2026, Vietjet reported seperate and
consolidated revenues of VND 25.5 trillion (approx. US$ 970.6 million) and VND
30.49 trillion (approx. US$1.16 billion), representing YoY increases of 44% and
71%, respectively. For the first six months, seperate and consolidated revenues
reached VND 45 trillion (approx. US$1.71 billion) and VND 51.5 trillion
(approx. US$1.96 billion), up 26% and 44% YoY, fulfilling 58.5% and 59.4% of
its full-year targets, respectively.
Seperate and consolidated Q2 after-tax profit
stood at VND 204 billion (approx. US$7.77 million) and VND 349 billion (approx.
US$13.3 million), respectively. Cumulative after-tax profit for the first six
months reached VND 1.12 trillion (approx. US$42.6 million)and VND 1.37 trillion
(approx. US$ 52.2 million), achieving 55.9% and 64.5% of the full-year target,
respectively.
As of June 30, 2026, Vietjet’s total assets
reached VND 149.09 trillion (approx. US$5.68 billion). The net debt-to-equity
ratio stood at 2.37 times and the liquidity ratio was 1.36 times, maintaining
safe operational levels within the industry. During the first six months,
Vietjet contributed over VND 3.95 trillion (approx. US$150.5 million) to the
State budget.
As a founding member, Vietjet announced the Asia–Pacific Aviation Finance Centre, creating opportunities for investors to participate more deeply in the aviation industry's high-value segments
Vietjet continues to invest heavily in its
fleet order book of over 600 Airbus and Boeing aircraft—among the largest in
the Asia-Pacific region. During the period, the airline finalized engine
agreements with Pratt & Whitney for GTF engines powering 44 Airbus A320neo
aircraft, and arranged aircraft financing for 12 Boeing 737-8 aircraft, laying
the foundation for its long-term international expansion strategy.
At the Singapore Airshow 2026, Vietjet, as a
founding member, announced Asia-Pacific Aviation Financial Center, attracting
global financial institutions and aviation enterprises to Vietnam to establish
a new regional aviation hub.
The airline also pioneered the integration of
artificial intelligence (AI) in operations and management, partnering with
international solution providers including OpenAirlines and Satair to optimize
fuel consumption, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce emissions.
In human capital development, Vietjet
partnered with Aviation Australia, F Air flight school, and IATA as a certified
training partner. Vietjet Aviation Academy conducted 9,662 training courses for
over 99,000 trainee enrollments—including pilots, cabin crew, engineers,
dispatchers, and aviation professionals—ensuring a steady supply of
high-quality talent for both Vietjet and the aviation sector.
According to Brand Finance, as of May 2026,
Vietjet’s brand value reached USD 906 million, reaffirming its growing
international market position.
During the first half of the year, Vietjet
was recognized as the World’s Best Ultra Low-Cost Airline, ranked among the Top
10 Safest Low-Cost Airlines for 2026, named a Global Best Place to Work in and among
Best Companies to Work for in Asia, listed among Vietnam’s Top 50 Listed
Companies, and recognized by Cirium for being the most emissions-efficient airline for intra-Southeast Asia operations.
The H1/2026 performance underscores Vietjet’s
long-term strategic transition from a new-generation airline into an integrated
aviation group with an extensive international network, a robust order book of
over 600 modern aircraft, and a comprehensive ecosystem spanning passenger and
freight transport, ground handling, training, MRO, aviation finance, and
