Vietjet strengthens air connectivity to support Vietnam's Halal tourism
ecosystem
(Vietjet, Khanh Hoa,
July 08, 2026) - The Vietnam Halal Tourism Conference 2026, themed “Vietnam:
A New Destination for Halal Tourism,” was held in Khanh Hoa, bringing together
government officials, international organisations, industry experts and businesses
to discuss the development of Vietnam's Halal tourism ecosystem and strengthen
cooperation with Muslim-majority markets worldwide.
Vietjet's Director of Commercial Division Ha Nang Viet delivered a presentation at the conference
Opening the conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen
Minh Hang highlighted Vietnam's strong potential to become a leading Halal
tourism destination, citing its political stability, rich cultural heritage,
diverse cuisine and strategic location linking Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia
and the Middle East. Vietnam welcomed more than 21 million international
visitors in 2025, including around 600,000 Muslim travellers, demonstrating
significant growth potential for the sector.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong
said Vietnam is well positioned to attract more Halal travellers thanks to its
geographical advantages, abundant tourism resources, unique cultural identity
and stable socio-economic environment. He stressed the need to develop a
comprehensive Halal tourism ecosystem, including Halal-friendly accommodation,
dining services, prayer facilities, digital platforms and a workforce equipped
with an understanding of Muslim culture and religious practices.
At the conference, Vietjet's Director of Commercial Division
Ha Nang Viet shared the airline's perspective on strengthening air connectivity
and supporting the development of Vietnam's Halal tourism ecosystem.
Vietjet reaffirmed its role as an air connectivity partner
through its extensive flight network, linking Vietnam with high-potential Halal
markets across Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. By
expanding its network and continuously enhancing service quality, the airline
aims to make Vietnam more accessible to Muslim travellers while promoting the
country's tourism appeal to international visitors.
The airline also outlined its strategy to further develop
Halal-friendly services, including certified meal options, enhanced onboard
experiences, greater use of digital technologies and closer collaboration with
partners across the tourism value chain.
A key highlight of the event was the introduction of Vietnam Halal Connect, an open collaboration
platform designed to bring together airlines, airports, local authorities,
tourism businesses, hotels, restaurants, Halal certification bodies and
technology partners in Vietnam and abroad. The initiative aims to create a
seamless, integrated and trusted Halal travel experience, supporting Vietnam's
ambition to become a modern, competitive and Halal-friendly destination in the
region.
As the global Halal tourism market continues to expand,
strengthening service ecosystems, improving air connectivity and fostering
cross-sector collaboration will be essential for Vietnam to unlock the full
potential of this high-growth market. Initiatives such as Vietnam Halal Connect are expected to accelerate that process and
enhance Vietnam's position as an attractive destination for Muslim travellers.
